As for silver or gold hardware, I usually like black with gold for evening outings, and black with silver hardware for day time use. I have a Kate with gold hardware and I usually use . Gold hardware on black leather is timeless, but when you throw in a gold logo, I think it's a tad overdone. Smaller and more subtle logos are great, but I do think YSL logos can be a tad.in your face (omg have you seen the Icare maxi?) If I had to choose a different hardware, I'd go for antique silver. It's stunning on YSL bags. I'm not sure about the difference quality wise, I have YSL bags in both the black and antique silver and both have held up perfectly. I'd imagine the gold and silver are also excellent quality. I like the black hardware on black bags as it’s not so flashy and I don’t have to worry about the clash between gold and silver jewelry options! I really like the gold or silver also because you can’t go wrong with classic YSL! When it comes to hardware, two most common types used in LouLou bags are the antique silver tone hardware and the bronze metal hardware. However, you can also find the Loulou bag with just silver tone or gold tone metal hardware,matte black hardware and bronze toned metal rope hardware.
